My Morning Routine is F*CKED

MY MORNING ROUTINE IS F*CKED.

I’ve neverrrrrrrr been a morning person. Like, ever.

Just ask my parents.

Especially my dad.

He can tell you all the excuses I came up with as a kid to stay in bed instead of going to church in the early AM with my grandparents.

My extreme dislike of getting up early hit rock bottom when I was in my senior year of undergrad.

I struggled to make it to 10am classes in time.

Not because I had been out partying the night before.

But because I was in adrenal fatigue for the first time.

After exhausting myself working full time and taking a full course load and caring about my grades.

I hate mornings so much that my biggest fear about going to chiropractic school was….

HOW IN THE WORLD WOULD I MAKE IT TO CLASS BY 7am?!?

Somehow, I managed (most days 😁) to be there on time.

I became an entrepreneur in 2011.

It wasn’t until 2015 that I learned that the only way to be successful in entrepreneurship was to have a rock solid morning routine. #sarcasm

After months of getting up at 4:30am to read, journal and meditate, I still would’ve chosen to have my toe nails ripped out with pliers than to get up before the sun was shining.

For most of 2018, after having my third baby,

I let go of any expectation that I’d do anything but keep myself and the kids alive in the morning.

But now my baby is 18 months, and I’m not feeling so sleep deprived.

So the expectation to make miracles happen in the morning had crept back in.

And then I went to the Big Money Marketer training with Garrett J White….

Needless to say, while in California at the live training (with my kids at home), I found it super easy to get my workout, journaling, reading and meditation in before 8am each morning.

And then I came home….

The reality is that one of my kids #wontnamenames has a built in radar that wakes her up about 15 minutes before my alarm goes off.

No matter what time I set the alarm for!

So today, this was how I got my morning routine in.

It took my more than 30 minutes to read just a few pages because someone else wanted to get a snack, have a drink, throw the drink, get down, get up, have another snack, cuddle and then have another drink.

To all you people out there sending mothers the message that they won’t be successful until they commit to their morning routine,

please remember this:

I work part time and yet still have a 6-figure business that I’ve grown organically.

I’m raising my daughters and supporting my family.

I feel pretty damn successful, until I hear your voice say that I’m not.

Chances are good, a woman like me is the reason someone like you is able to do what you do….

without worrying about who’s taking care of your kids while you become successful.

In the meantime, I hope that the mom reading this who’s exhausted from being up all night takes a friggin’ nap. 💜
