Are You Making Time To Work ON Your Business?
Making time to work IN your business (aka see patients) is one thing.
Making time to work ON your business is another.
It doesn’t just HAPPEN.
At home, you’re never alone (see picture below of child and cat plopped down in the bathroom while I showered).
At work, there’s people going in and out, phones ringing, emails waiting….
I used to think I could just try to squeeze in working on my practice at night, early in the morning, during nap time, and on the weekends.
I used to feel so guilty about taking any “extra” time away from my family.
I used to feel afraid to spend anything more than what seemed necessary on childcare.
But now I see it differently….
YOU need to see this differently.
I’m not telling you there’s any right or wrong number of hours per week that you should work.
And I’m not telling you to take MORE time away from your family if you don’t want to.
What I’m saying, is this:
The notion that you can be a great mom, a great chiropractor and a great business owner all at the same time…
That notion is damaging.
It’s literally making women sick.
You can have it all. But you cannot DO it all.
You MUST give yourself time to work on your practice. And even, on YOU.
It’s a MUST because the cost is SO HIGH if you don’t.
The cost is not being present in any one role, ever.
The cost is anger that grows into resentment that grows into burn out.
The cost is adrenal fatigue and autoimmunity.
